Description
Join us at Upstart & Crow for an evening of poetry with Brooklyn-based poet Alisha Mascarenhas, joined by local writers Sasha J. Langford and Danielle LaFrance, as we celebrate the launch of Mascarenhas’ new collection, A Catalogue of Risk.
This debut book of poetry is a “volte-face of the neoliberal market economy’s construction of isolated, individual safety… Mascarenhas lingers in the question of risk as it arises in daily life and intimacy. Through a close study and partial translation of philosopher-psychoanalyst Anne Dufourmantelle’s Éloge du risque (2011), her poems posit risk as a fissure, through which we might imagine yet-unknown futures,” says publisher Wendy’s Subway.
Books will be on hand for sale and signing. This event is free, but please register for your spot here as capacity is limited!
