An Evening with Literary Magpie: Tree Abraham

Thursday, May 8, 2025

Online via Zoom

Description

Take the opportunity to meet one of the literary world’s most exciting young talents — writer, collager, book cover designer, and all round scavenger, Tree Abraham. We can’t wait to host her for a virtual conversation about her work, her process, her artistic life, and much more!

Abraham is the author of the brand-new book elseship: an unrequited affair, an artistic portrait recounting and creating meaning from the year that followed a friendship confronted by unrequited love. Abraham details the beauty and mania of this experience, mapping thought pathways, confessing ugly truths, and treading the edges of eroding territory.

The book is woven through with personal entries, research, photos and disagrams, all organized within the eight ancient Greek categories of love. This is a deeply specific yet universal story of modern love that will accompany and enlighten anyone who’s been in any kind of complicated “ship.”

Abraham will be in conversation with Upstart & Crow staffer, Robyn Smith. This is a free event, but please RSVP here. You’ll have the option to purchase a copy of elseship (Book*hug Press), which you can pick up at Upstart & Crow or have shipped right to your door.

Please select between three ticket options: general admission (free), donation, or book + general admission. Purchasing the book is not required, but you’ll receive 10% off if you do!
