Description
Join us on Tuesday, Aug. 27 at 7 p.m. for readings and chats with Richard Kelly Kemick and Damian Tarnopolsky, the authors of two brand-new story collections published by two incredible Canadian presses.
Kemick’s book, Hello, Horse, is a collection of taut, stylish stories that take on big moral questions from surprising perspectives. As Kirkus Reviews wrote, “the tales here mix whimsy, weirdness, lust, and Canadian politics.” It is published by Biblioasis.
Tarnopolsky’s book, Every Night I Dream I’m a Monk, Every Night I Dream I’m a Monster, is seriously surreal. Profanity (the ‘monster’ part) and sanctity (the ‘monk’ part) are married in this collection, as the author explores universal themes of the self, death, and art, grounding them in real family drama and messy relationships. It is published by Freehand Books.
The authors will each read from their collections and then host an informal Q&A period. Books will be available for purchase and signing. This is a free event, but please register for your spot at our Eventbrite, as capacity is limited. Thank you for supporting independent publishers!
