Forage Fest! A Book Launch and Tasting Night

Friday, May 24, 2024

Upstart & Crow Studio

Description

Do you love foraging, or are you foraging-curious? Look no further — we have the event for you.

Join us on Friday, May 24 at 6 p.m. for Forage Fest! At this event, we’ll celebrate the launch of the new book, Foraging as a Way of Life: A Year Round Field Guide to Wild Plants, by Mikaela Cannon (New Society Publishers), and also sample locally foraged goods by our friends at Forest for Dinner.

Cannon and Forest for Dinner will share their expertise in what will be an interactive evening of learning and tastiness. We hope you’ll join us! Books and products will be available for sale. This event is free, but please RSVP for your spot on our Eventbrite page, as capacity is limited.

About the author:

Mikaela Cannon facilitates classes, workshops, and hikes focused on responsible foraging and wildcrafting, and is passionate about passing on to the next generation the skills and knowledge required to harvest and prepare wild foods. She and her family run a food forest nursery, grow their own vegetables and strive to improve biodiversity on a small farm in Armstrong, B.C.

About Forest for Dinner:

Forest for Dinner is a wildcrafting company founded in 2015 by husband and wife Benjamin Patarin and Célia Auclair. They bring high-quality wild food products harvested from the wilderness of Vancouver Island into the retail space and local food and beverage industry.
