Short Forms Forever! With Jen Currin, Cole Nowicki and Deepa Rajagopalan

Friday, June 28, 2024

Upstart & Crow Studio

Description

Join us on Friday, June 28 at 7 p.m. for an evening with three wonderful authors who are all about the short form, stories and essays! Deepa Rajagopalan, Jen Currin and Cole Nowicki will join Upstart staffer and poet, Franz Seachel, for a conversation about writing snappily, as well as read from their new collections.

Rajagopalan’s collection, Peacocks of Instagram, is an engrossing, witty yet devastating collection about diasporic Indians that deftly questions what it means to be safe, to survive, and to call a place home.

Currin’s collection, Disembark, shares remarkable and sometimes magical stories of queer friendship and love, against the backdrop of city life.

Nowicki’s nonfiction collection, Laser Quit Smoking Massage, explores the peculiarities of the urban and rural centres of the Canadian West through witty and insightful reportage.

This is a free event, but please register for your spot on our Eventbrite, as capacity is limited. Books will be available for purchase and signing!
