Join us on Sunday, Oct. 20 at 4:30 p.m. for a conversation with authors Premee Mohamed and Jes Battis as they chat about their latest books and the themes that unite them. Expect discussions about anticolonialism, climate fiction, strange magical worlds and more!

Mohamed is the author of the new We Speak Through the Mountain, published by ECW Press. Battis is the author of the new poetry collection I Hate Parties: Poems, with Nightwood Editions, as well as the novel The Winter Knight, published by ECW Press.

Books will be on hand for purchase and signing. This event is free or by donation. Please RSVP for your spot here, as capacity is limited. Thanks to ECW for partnering with us on this event.

More about the authors:

Jes Battis (they/them) teaches literature and creative writing at the University of Regina. They’ve published poems in The Ex-Puritan, The Malahat Review, The Capilano Review and Poetry Is Dead, among other literary magazines. They are the author of the Occult Special Investigator series (shortlisted for the Sunburst Award), the Parallel Parks series and, most recently, The Winter Knight with ECW.

Premee Mohamed is a Nebula-, World Fantasy–, and Aurora Award–winning Indo-Caribbean scientist and speculative fiction author based in Edmonton, Alberta. She is the author of the Beneath the Rising series of novels as well as several novellas, and her short fiction has appeared in many venues.
